Before he had finished speaking, another servant came and said, “Lightning struck the sheep and the shepherds and killed them all. I am the only one who escaped to tell you.”

Praise the Lord, my soul! O Lord, my God, how great you are! You are clothed with majesty and glory;

so that everyone will know your mighty deeds and the glorious majesty of your kingdom.

They will speak of your glory and majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful deeds.

His glory is great because of your help; you have given him fame and majesty.

For Christ died and rose to life in order to be the Lord of the living and of the dead.

He reflects the brightness of God's glory and is the exact likeness of God's own being, sustaining the universe with his powerful word. After achieving forgiveness for the sins of all human beings, he sat down in heaven at the right side of God, the Supreme Power.

The word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. It cuts all the way through, to where soul and spirit meet, to where joints and marrow come together. It judges the desires and thoughts of the heart.

The whole point of what we are saying is that we have such a High Priest, who sits at the right of the throne of the Divine Majesty in heaven.

to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, might, and authority, from all ages past, and now, and forever and ever! Amen.
