You are the most handsome of men; you are an eloquent speaker. God has always blessed you.

If you love purity of heart and graciousness of speech, the king will be your friend.

Then you will know how to behave properly, and your words will show that you have knowledge.

Once again you will see a king ruling in splendor over a land that stretches in all directions.

How good and beautiful the land will be! The young people will grow strong on its grain and wine.

As they looked on, a change came over Jesus: his face was shining like the sun, and his clothes were dazzling white.

They were all well impressed with him and marveled at the eloquent words that he spoke. They said, “Isn't he the son of Joseph?”

The Word became a human being and, full of grace and truth, lived among us. We saw his glory, the glory which he received as the Father's only Son.

The guards answered, “Nobody has ever talked the way this man does!”

Jesus, then, is the High Priest that meets our needs. He is holy; he has no fault or sin in him; he has been set apart from sinners and raised above the heavens.
