What, then, can I hope for, Lord? I put my hope in you.

“I wait for your deliverance, Lord.

I've lost all hope, so what if God kills me? I am going to state my case to him.

We grow and wither as quickly as flowers; we disappear like shadows.

I wait for you to save me, Lord, and I do what you command.

I am worn out, Lord, waiting for you to save me; I place my trust in your word.

But I trust in you, O Lord; and you, O Lord my God, will answer me.

Their graves are their homes forever; there they stay for all time, though they once had lands of their own.

You work for something with all your wisdom, knowledge, and skill, and then you have to leave it all to someone who hasn't had to work for it. It is useless, and it isn't right!

Here is someone who lives alone. He has no son, no brother, yet he is always working, never satisfied with the wealth he has. For whom is he working so hard and denying himself any pleasure? This is useless, too—and a miserable way to live.

At that time there was a man named Simeon living in Jerusalem. He was a good, God-fearing man and was waiting for Israel to be saved. The Holy Spirit was with him

May God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit.
