Happy are those whose sins are forgiven, whose wrongs are pardoned.

Why do you boast, great one, of your evil? God's faithfulness is eternal.

Fools say to themselves, “There is no God.” They are all corrupt, and they have done terrible things; there is no one who does what is right.

Hear my prayer, O God; don't turn away from my plea!

Lord Almighty, how happy are those who trust in you!

You have forgiven your people's sins and pardoned all their wrongs.

How happy are the people who worship you with songs, who live in the light of your kindness!

The Lord says, “Now, let's settle the matter. You are stained red with sin, but I will wash you as clean as snow. Although your stains are deep red, you will be as white as wool.

And yet, I am the God who forgives your sins, and I do this because of who I am. I will not hold your sins against you.

I have swept your sins away like a cloud. Come back to me; I am the one who saves you.”

“Good for you, Simon son of John!” answered Jesus. “For this truth did not come to you from any human being, but it was given to you directly by my Father in heaven.

But Jesus answered, “Rather, how happy are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”

Happy are those who wash their robes clean and so have the right to eat the fruit from the tree of life and to go through the gates into the city.
