Good News Translation

So I will triumph over my enemies around me. With shouts of joy I will offer sacrifices in his Temple; I will sing, I will praise the Lord.

In three days the king will release you, pardon you, and restore you to your position. You will give him his cup as you did before when you were his wine steward.

On his birthday three days later the king gave a banquet for all his officials; he released his wine steward and his chief baker and brought them before his officials.

When the Lord saved David from Saul and his other enemies, David sang this song to the Lord:

and saves me from my foes. O Lord, you give me victory over my enemies and protect me from violent men.

I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have defeated all your enemies as you advanced. I will make you as famous as the greatest leaders in the world.

In the year that Evil-merodach became king of Babylonia, he showed kindness to King Jehoiachin of Judah by releasing him from prison. This happened on the twenty-seventh day of the twelfth month of the thirty-seventh year after Jehoiachin had been taken away as prisoner.

He said, “The Lord your God has been with you and given you peace on all sides. He let me conquer all the people who used to live in this land, and they are now subject to you and to the Lord.

They must thank him with sacrifices, and with songs of joy must tell all that he has done.

The king will drink from the stream by the road, and strengthened, he will stand victorious.

Accept my prayer of thanks, O Lord, and teach me your commands.

They will sing about what you have done and about your great glory.

The king is glad, O Lord, because you gave him strength; he rejoices because you made him victorious.

We praise you, Lord, for your great strength! We will sing and praise your power.

But you, O Lord, are always my shield from danger; you give me victory and restore my courage.

I call to the Lord for help, and from his sacred hill he answers me.

Clap your hands for joy, all peoples! Praise God with loud songs!

Wake up, my soul! Wake up, my harp and lyre! I will wake up the sun.

Shout for joy to God our defender; sing praise to the God of Jacob!

Come, let us praise the Lord! Let us sing for joy to God, who protects us!

Let everyone who lives in Zion shout and sing! Israel's holy God is great, and he lives among his people.”

The Lord says, “Sing with joy for Israel, the greatest of the nations. Sing your song of praise, ‘The Lord has saved his people; he has rescued all who are left.’

the shouts of gladness and joy and the happy sounds of wedding feasts. You will hear people sing as they bring thank offerings to my Temple; they will say, ‘Give thanks to the Lord Almighty, because he is good and his love is eternal.’ I will make this land as prosperous as it was before. I, the Lord, have spoken.”

Rejoice, rejoice, people of Zion! Shout for joy, you people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you! He comes triumphant and victorious, but humble and riding on a donkey— on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Let us, then, always offer praise to God as our sacrifice through Jesus, which is the offering presented by lips that confess him as Lord.

Come as living stones, and let yourselves be used in building the spiritual temple, where you will serve as holy priests to offer spiritual and acceptable sacrifices to God through Jesus Christ.

and singing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb: “Lord God Almighty, how great and wonderful are your deeds! King of the nations, how right and true are your ways!

They sang a new song: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to break open its seals. For you were killed, and by your sacrificial death you bought for God people from every tribe, language, nation, and race.
