Then the king said to Zadok, “Take the Covenant Box back to the city. If the Lord is pleased with me, some day he will let me come back to see it and the place where it stays.

Over and above all this that I have provided, I have given silver and gold from my personal property because of my love for God's Temple.

When King Solomon finished his prayer, fire came down from heaven and burned up the sacrifices that had been offered, and the dazzling light of the Lord's presence filled the Temple.

Because the Temple was full of the dazzling light, the priests could not enter it.

For the sake of the house of the Lord our God I pray for your prosperity.

My heart breaks when I remember the past, when I went with the crowds to the house of God and led them as they walked along, a happy crowd, singing and shouting praise to God.

One day spent in your Temple is better than a thousand anywhere else; I would rather stand at the gate of the house of my God than live in the homes of the wicked.

Lord, you have healed me. We will play harps and sing your praise, Sing praise in your Temple as long as we live.

Then King Hezekiah asked, “What is the sign to prove that I will be able to go to the Temple?”

Then God's spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the loud roar of a voice that said, “Praise the glory of the Lord in heaven above!”

On the third day they found him in the Temple, sitting with the Jewish teachers, listening to them and asking questions.

He answered them, “Why did you have to look for me? Didn't you know that I had to be in my Father's house?”
