Lord, what are mortals, that you notice them; mere mortals, that you pay attention to us?
Can any human being be really pure? Can anyone be right with God?
Why are people so important to you? Why pay attention to what they do?
what are human beings, that you think of them; mere mortals, that you care for them?
Yet you made them inferior only to yourself; you crowned them with glory and honor.
Put no more confidence in mortals. What are they worth?
Instead, as it is said somewhere in the Scriptures: “What are human beings, O God, that you should think of them; mere human beings, that you should care for them?
