Protect me, Lord, from the power of the wicked; keep me safe from violent people who plot my downfall.

I have always walked in your way and have never strayed from it.

Do not let proud people attack me or the wicked make me run away.

You love to hurt people with your words, you liar!

which does not hear the voice of the snake charmer, or the chant of the clever magician.

My God, rescue me from wicked people, from the power of cruel and evil people.

It is not right to favor the guilty and keep the innocent from receiving justice.
