Insults have broken my heart, and I am in despair. I had hoped for sympathy, but there was none; for comfort, but I found none.

When I think of God, I sigh; when I meditate, I feel discouraged.

Grass withers and flowers fade when the Lord sends the wind blowing over them. People are no more enduring than grass.

He shot his arrows deep into my body.

I think of it constantly, and my spirit is depressed.

For three days he was not able to see, and during that time he did not eat or drink anything.
