Yes, beg for knowledge; plead for insight.
And may the Lord your God give you insight and wisdom so that you may govern Israel according to his Law.
I am your servant; give me understanding, so that I may know your teachings.
Let my cry for help reach you, Lord! Give me understanding, as you have promised.
Explain your law to me, and I will obey it; I will keep it with all my heart.
You created me, and you keep me safe; give me understanding, so that I may learn your laws.
Listen to what is wise and try to understand it.
Look for it as hard as you would for silver or some hidden treasure.
Remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way.
My children, listen to what your father teaches you. Pay attention, and you will have understanding.
I love those who love me; whoever looks for me can find me.
As bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all.
