and the Lord said to Moses,
and asked, “Your Majesty, why are you here?” David answered, “To buy your threshing place and build an altar for the Lord, in order to stop the epidemic.”
But God was merciful to his people. He forgave their sin and did not destroy them. Many times he held back his anger and restrained his fury.
Moses and Aaron went and stood in front of the Tent,
“Move back from these people, and I will destroy them on the spot!” The two of them bowed down with their faces to the ground,
