“No one patches up an old coat with a piece of new cloth, for the new patch will shrink and make an even bigger hole in the coat.

Nor does anyone pour new wine into used wineskins, for the skins will burst, the wine will pour out, and the skins will be ruined. Instead, new wine is poured into fresh wineskins, and both will keep in good condition.”

“No one uses a piece of new cloth to patch up an old coat, because the new patch will shrink and tear off some of the old cloth, making an even bigger hole.

Jesus also told them this parable: “You don't tear a piece off a new coat to patch up an old coat. If you do, you will have torn the new coat, and the piece of new cloth will not match the old.

“I have much more to tell you, but now it would be too much for you to bear.

Meanwhile these three remain: faith, hope, and love; and the greatest of these is love.

For this service you perform not only meets the needs of God's people, but also produces an outpouring of gratitude to God.
