Matthew 4:24

Good News Translation

The news about him spread through the whole country of Syria, so that people brought to him all those who were sick, suffering from all kinds of diseases and disorders: people with demons, and epileptics, and paralyzed people—and Jesus healed them all.

Then he set up military camps in their territory, and they became his subjects and paid taxes to him. The Lord made David victorious everywhere.

The queen of Sheba heard of Solomon's fame, and she traveled to Jerusalem to test him with difficult questions.

He was the wisest of all men: wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Calcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol, and his fame spread throughout all the neighboring countries.

David's fame spread everywhere, and the Lord made every nation afraid of him.

I have made every effort to prepare materials for the Temple—gold, silver, bronze, iron, timber, precious stones and gems, stones for mosaics, and quantities of marble.

He said, “If you will obey me completely by doing what I consider right and by keeping my commands, I will not punish you with any of the diseases that I brought on the Egyptians. I am the Lord, the one who heals you.”

Then some people brought to Jesus a man who was blind and could not talk because he had a demon. Jesus healed the man, so that he was able to talk and see.

At that time Herod, the ruler of Galilee, heard about Jesus.

A Canaanite woman who lived in that region came to him. “Son of David!” she cried out. “Have mercy on me, sir! My daughter has a demon and is in a terrible condition.”

and said, “Sir, have mercy on my son! He is an epileptic and has such terrible attacks that he often falls in the fire or into water.

Jesus gave a command to the demon, and it went out of the boy, and at that very moment he was healed.

Jesus went all over Galilee, teaching in the synagogues, preaching the Good News about the Kingdom, and healing people who had all kinds of disease and sickness.

When Jesus came to the territory of Gadara on the other side of the lake, he was met by two men who came out of the burial caves there. These men had demons in them and were so fierce that no one dared travel on that road.

The men who had been taking care of the pigs ran away and went into the town, where they told the whole story and what had happened to the men with the demons.

“Sir, my servant is sick in bed at home, unable to move and suffering terribly.”

The news about this spread all over that part of the country.

Jesus went around visiting all the towns and villages. He taught in the synagogues, preached the Good News about the Kingdom, and healed people with every kind of disease and sickness.

And so the news about Jesus spread quickly everywhere in the province of Galilee.

After the sun had set and evening had come, people brought to Jesus all the sick and those who had demons.

when four men arrived, carrying a paralyzed man to Jesus.

Because of the crowd, however, they could not get the man to him. So they made a hole in the roof right above the place where Jesus was. When they had made an opening, they let the man down, lying on his mat.

Is it easier to say to this paralyzed man, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, pick up your mat, and walk’?

When this first census took place, Quirinius was the governor of Syria.

Then Jesus returned to Galilee, and the power of the Holy Spirit was with him. The news about him spread throughout all that territory.

Jesus left the synagogue and went to Simon's home. Simon's mother-in-law was sick with a high fever, and they spoke to Jesus about her.

But the news about Jesus spread all the more widely, and crowds of people came to hear him and be healed from their diseases.

I will prove to you, then, that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, pick up your bed, and go home!”

This news about Jesus went out through all the country and the surrounding territory.

But others were saying, “A man with a demon could not talk like this! How could a demon give sight to blind people?”

You know about Jesus of Nazareth and how God poured out on him the Holy Spirit and power. He went everywhere, doing good and healing all who were under the power of the Devil, for God was with him.

and they sent the following letter by them: “We, the apostles and the elders, your brothers, send greetings to all our brothers of Gentile birth who live in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia.

He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.

When this happened, all the other sick people on the island came and were healed.

Evil spirits came out from many people with a loud cry, and many paralyzed and lame people were healed.

So the Lord was with Joshua, and his fame spread through the whole country.
