Jesus knew what they were saying, and so he said to them, “Why are you bothering this woman? It is a fine and beautiful thing that she has done for me.

He must remain in heaven until the time comes for all things to be made new, as God announced through his holy prophets of long ago.

All they asked was that we should remember the needy in their group, which is the very thing I have been eager to do.

There will always be some Israelites who are poor and in need, and so I command you to be generous to them.

If we are rich and see others in need, yet close our hearts against them, how can we claim that we love God?
