So if your right eye causes you to sin, take it out and throw it away! It is much better for you to lose a part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into hell.

If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away! It is much better for you to lose one of your limbs than to have your whole body go off to hell.

It would be better for him if a large millstone were tied around his neck and he were thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.

Without being told, Jesus knew that they were grumbling about this, so he said to them, “Does this make you want to give up?

The right thing to do is to keep from eating meat, drinking wine, or doing anything else that will make other believers fall.

So then, if food makes a believer sin, I will never eat meat again, so as not to make a believer fall into sin.

Be careful, however, not to let your freedom of action make those who are weak in the faith fall into sin.

We do not want anyone to find fault with our work, so we try not to put obstacles in anyone's way.

You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ; rich as he was, he made himself poor for your sake, in order to make you rich by means of his poverty.

Listen, my dear friends! God chose the poor people of this world to be rich in faith and to possess the kingdom which he promised to those who love him.
