For some time John the Baptist had told Herod, “It isn't right for you to be married to Herodias!”
“You are that man,” Nathan said to David. “And this is what the Lord God of Israel says: ‘I made you king of Israel and rescued you from Saul.
Tell him that I, the Lord, say to him, ‘After murdering the man, are you taking over his property as well?’ Tell him that this is what I say: ‘In the very place that the dogs licked up Naboth's blood they will lick up your blood!’”
The wicked run when no one is chasing them, but an honest person is as brave as a lion.
If you have no regard for the law, you are on the side of the wicked; but if you obey it, you are against them.
You are to answer them, “Listen to what the Lord is teaching you! Don't listen to mediums—what they tell you cannot keep trouble away.”
Then I gave this message to King Zedekiah in Jerusalem
or with your brother's wife.
If a man takes his brother's wife, they will die childless. He has done a ritually unclean thing and has disgraced his brother.
John the Baptist kept telling Herod, “It isn't right for you to marry your brother's wife!”
