So I let them go their stubborn ways and do whatever they wanted.

The Lord said to me, “Jeremiah, when one of my people or a prophet or a priest asks you, ‘What is the Lord's message?’ you are to say, ‘You are a burden to the Lord, and he is going to get rid of you.’

The people of Israel are under the spell of idols. Let them go their own way.

But even if they did bring up children, I would take them away and not leave one alive. When I abandon these people, terrible things will happen to them.”

“Don't worry about them! They are blind leaders of the blind; and when one blind man leads another, both fall into a ditch.”

“Do not give what is holy to dogs—they will only turn and attack you. Do not throw your pearls in front of pigs—they will only trample them underfoot.

But Jesus gave a deep groan and said, “Why do the people of this day ask for a miracle? No, I tell you! No such proof will be given to these people!”

The disciples had forgotten to bring enough bread and had only one loaf with them in the boat.

Then all the people from that territory asked Jesus to go away, because they were terribly afraid. So Jesus got into the boat and left.

Believe in the light, then, while you have it, so that you will be the people of the light.” After Jesus said this, he went off and hid himself from them.

Again Jesus said to them, “I will go away; you will look for me, but you will die in your sins. You cannot go where I am going.”

When they opposed him and said evil things about him, he protested by shaking the dust from his clothes and saying to them, “If you are lost, you yourselves must take the blame for it! I am not responsible. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”

We went aboard a ship from Adramyttium, which was ready to leave for the seaports of the province of Asia, and we sailed away. Aristarchus, a Macedonian from Thessalonica, was with us.
