Good News Translation

So they went out and preached that people should turn away from their sins.

“Now I, the Sovereign Lord, am telling you Israelites that I will judge each of you by what you have done. Turn away from all the evil you are doing, and don't let your sin destroy you.

When Jesus finished giving these instructions to his twelve disciples, he left that place and went off to teach and preach in the towns near there.

The people in the towns where Jesus had performed most of his miracles did not turn from their sins, so he reproached those towns.

“Turn away from your sins,” he said, “because the Kingdom of heaven is near!”

Do those things that will show that you have turned from your sins.

From that time Jesus began to preach his message: “Turn away from your sins, because the Kingdom of heaven is near!”

Go and find out what is meant by the scripture that says: ‘It is kindness that I want, not animal sacrifices.’ I have not come to call respectable people, but outcasts.”

“The right time has come,” he said, “and the Kingdom of God is near! Turn away from your sins and believe the Good News!”

Someone is shouting in the desert, ‘Get the road ready for the Lord; make a straight path for him to travel!’”

On the Judgment Day the people of Nineveh will stand up and accuse you, because they turned from their sins when they heard Jonah preach; and I assure you that there is something here greater than Jonah!

and in his name the message about repentance and the forgiveness of sins must be preached to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem.

The disciples left and traveled through all the villages, preaching the Good News and healing people everywhere.

When they heard this, they stopped their criticism and praised God, saying, “Then God has given to the Gentiles also the opportunity to repent and live!”

Peter said to them, “Each one of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins will be forgiven; and you will receive God's gift, the Holy Spirit.

To Jews and Gentiles alike I gave solemn warning that they should turn from their sins to God and believe in our Lord Jesus.

First in Damascus and in Jerusalem and then in the whole country of Israel and among the Gentiles, I preached that they must repent of their sins and turn to God and do the things that would show they had repented.

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that he will forgive your sins. If you do,
