When they persecute you in one town, run away to another one. I assure you that you will not finish your work in all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

When Jesus heard about the plot against him, he went away from that place; and large crowds followed him. He healed all the sick

and gave them orders not to tell others about him.

Large crowds followed him from Galilee and the Ten Towns, from Jerusalem, Judea, and the land on the other side of the Jordan.

So he traveled all over Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and driving out demons.

But the man went away and began to spread the news everywhere. Indeed, he talked so much that Jesus could not go into a town publicly. Instead, he stayed out in lonely places, and people came to him from everywhere.

Then Jesus went home. Again such a large crowd gathered that Jesus and his disciples had no time to eat.

Again Jesus began to teach beside Lake Galilee. The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it. The boat was out in the water, and the crowd stood on the shore at the water's edge.

But they insisted even more strongly, “With his teaching he is starting a riot among the people all through Judea. He began in Galilee and now has come here.”

At that time Jesus went up a hill to pray and spent the whole night there praying to God.

When Jesus had come down from the hill with the apostles, he stood on a level place with a large number of his disciples. A large crowd of people was there from all over Judea and from Jerusalem and from the coast cities of Tyre and Sidon;

Others said, “He is the Messiah!” But others said, “The Messiah will not come from Galilee!

“Well,” they answered, “are you also from Galilee? Study the Scriptures and you will learn that no prophet ever comes from Galilee.”

As soon as night came, the believers sent Paul and Silas to Berea. When they arrived, they went to the synagogue.

At once the believers sent Paul away to the coast; but both Silas and Timothy stayed in Berea.

So, on the west side of the Jordan they set aside Kedesh in Galilee, in the hill country of Naphtali; Shechem, in the hill country of Ephraim; and Hebron, in the hill country of Judah.

From the territory of Naphtali they received three cities: Kedesh in Galilee, with its pasture lands (one of the cities of refuge), Hammoth Dor, and Kartan, with their pasture lands.
