Luke 9:52

Good News Translation

He sent messengers ahead of him, who went into a village in Samaria to get everything ready for him.

The Lord Almighty answers, “I will send my messenger to prepare the way for me. Then the Lord you are looking for will suddenly come to his Temple. The messenger you long to see will come and proclaim my covenant.”

These twelve men were sent out by Jesus with the following instructions: “Do not go to any Gentile territory or any Samaritan towns.

After this the Lord chose another seventy-two men and sent them out two by two, to go ahead of him to every town and place where he himself was about to go.

But a Samaritan who was traveling that way came upon the man, and when he saw him, his heart was filled with pity.

As Jesus made his way to Jerusalem, he went along the border between Samaria and Galilee.

He threw himself to the ground at Jesus' feet and thanked him. The man was a Samaritan.

For John is the one of whom the scripture says: ‘God said, I will send my messenger ahead of you to open the way for you.’

on his way there he had to go through Samaria.

In Samaria he came to a town named Sychar, which was not far from the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph.

The woman answered, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan—so how can you ask me for a drink?” (Jews will not use the same cups and bowls that Samaritans use.)

They asked Jesus, “Were we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon in you?”
