Luke 9:20

“What about you?” he asked them. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are God's Messiah.”

“What do you think about the Messiah? Whose descendant is he?” “He is David's descendant,” they answered.

But Jesus kept quiet. Again the High Priest spoke to him, “In the name of the living God I now put you under oath: tell us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God.”

And if you speak only to your friends, have you done anything out of the ordinary? Even the pagans do that!

But Jesus kept quiet and would not say a word. Again the High Priest questioned him, “Are you the Messiah, the Son of the Blessed God?”

“What about you?” he asked them. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah.”

“Tell us,” they said, “are you the Messiah?” He answered, “If I tell you, you will not believe me;

“Some say that you are John the Baptist,” they answered. “Others say that you are Elijah, while others say that one of the prophets of long ago has come back to life.”

At once he found his brother Simon and told him, “We have found the Messiah.” (This word means “Christ.”)

“Teacher,” answered Nathanael, “you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”

“Yes, Lord!” she answered. “I do believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.”

But these have been written in order that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through your faith in him you may have life.

“Come and see the man who told me everything I have ever done. Could he be the Messiah?”

and they told the woman, “We believe now, not because of what you said, but because we ourselves have heard him, and we know that he really is the Savior of the world.”

Others said, “He is the Messiah!” But others said, “The Messiah will not come from Galilee!

and explaining the Scriptures, and proving from them that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from death. “This Jesus whom I announce to you,” Paul said, “is the Messiah.”

As they traveled down the road, they came to a place where there was some water, and the official said, “Here is some water. What is to keep me from being baptized?”

But Saul's preaching became even more powerful, and his proofs that Jesus was the Messiah were so convincing that the Jews who lived in Damascus could not answer him.

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Messiah is a child of God; and whoever loves a father loves his child also.
