The Lord will punish Joab for those murders, which he committed without my father David's knowledge. Joab killed two innocent men who were better men than he: Abner, commander of the army of Israel, and Amasa, commander of the army of Judah.

Because Joab disapproved of the king's command, he did not take any census of the tribes of Levi and Benjamin.

Because they think so highly of themselves, they think that God will not discover their sin and condemn it.

“Who can understand the human heart? There is nothing else so deceitful; it is too sick to be healed.

He realizes what he is doing and stops sinning, so he will certainly not die, but go on living.

They also had a few small fish. Jesus gave thanks for these and told the disciples to distribute them too.

No pupils are greater than their teacher; but all pupils, when they have completed their training, will be like their teacher.

How can you say to your brother, ‘Please, brother, let me take that speck out of your eye,’ yet cannot even see the log in your own eye? You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will be able to see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.

As they stood there asking him questions, he straightened up and said to them, “Whichever one of you has committed no sin may throw the first stone at her.”

Do you, my friend, pass judgment on others? You have no excuse at all, whoever you are. For when you judge others and then do the same things which they do, you condemn yourself.

They take a good look at themselves and then go away and at once forget what they look like.
