Give to everyone who asks you for something, and when someone takes what is yours, do not ask for it back.

Happy are those who are concerned for the poor; the Lord will help them when they are in trouble.

When you give to the poor, it is like lending to the Lord, and the Lord will pay you back.

Be generous and share your food with the poor. You will be blessed for it.

Forgive us the wrongs we have done, as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us.

But give what is in your cups and plates to the poor, and everything will be ritually clean for you.

Sell all your belongings and give the money to the poor. Provide for yourselves purses that don't wear out, and save your riches in heaven, where they will never decrease, because no thief can get to them, and no moth can destroy them.

When Jesus heard this, he said to him, “There is still one more thing you need to do. Sell all you have and give the money to the poor, and you will have riches in heaven; then come and follow me.”

If anyone hits you on one cheek, let him hit the other one too; if someone takes your coat, let him have your shirt as well.

Do for others just what you want them to do for you.

Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands—all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you.”

I have shown you in all things that by working hard in this way we must help the weak, remembering the words that the Lord Jesus himself said, ‘There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.’”

You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ; rich as he was, he made himself poor for your sake, in order to make you rich by means of his poverty.

If you used to rob, you must stop robbing and start working, in order to earn an honest living for yourself and to be able to help the poor.
