When his troubles were at their worst, that man Ahaz sinned against the Lord more than ever.

Sin speaks to the wicked deep in their hearts; they reject God and do not have reverence for him.

Surely the Lord looks for faithfulness. He struck you, but you paid no attention; he crushed you, but you refused to learn. You were stubborn and would not turn from your sins.

“Do not bear a grudge against others, but settle your differences with them, so that you will not commit a sin because of them.

The men who had begun to work at five o'clock were paid a silver coin each.

“Why are you so frightened?” Jesus answered. “What little faith you have!” Then he got up and ordered the winds and the waves to stop, and there was a great calm.

I will show you whom to fear: fear God, who, after killing, has the authority to throw into hell. Believe me, he is the one you must fear!

One of the criminals hanging there hurled insults at him: “Aren't you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”

Ours, however, is only right, because we are getting what we deserve for what we did; but he has done no wrong.”

Have nothing to do with the worthless things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light. (

Who will not stand in awe of you, Lord? Who will refuse to declare your greatness? You alone are holy. All the nations will come and worship you, because your just actions are seen by all.”

and they cursed the God of heaven for their pains and sores. But they did not turn from their evil ways.
