“The servant who knows what his master wants him to do, but does not get himself ready and do it, will be punished with a heavy whipping.

Kill the old men, young men, young women, mothers, and children. But don't touch anyone who has the mark on his forehead. Start here at my Temple.” So they began with the leaders who were standing there at the Temple.

Peter said, “Lord, does this parable apply to us, or do you mean it for everyone?”

then the master will come back one day when the servant does not expect him and at a time he does not know. The master will cut him in pieces and make him share the fate of the disobedient.

Those who reject me and do not accept my message have one who will judge them. The words I have spoken will be their judge on the last day!

Jesus answered, “You have authority over me only because it was given to you by God. So the man who handed me over to you is guilty of a worse sin.”

Jesus answered, “If you were blind, then you would not be guilty; but since you claim that you can see, this means that you are still guilty.”

God has overlooked the times when people did not know him, but now he commands all of them everywhere to turn away from their evil ways.

So then, if we do not do the good we know we should do, we are guilty of sin.
