Good News Translation

“The Mighty One is God! He is the Lord! The Mighty One is God! He is the Lord! He knows why we did this, and we want you to know too! If we rebelled and did not keep faith with the Lord, do not let us live any longer!

hear their prayer. Listen to them in your home in heaven, forgive them, and help them. You alone know the thoughts of the human heart. Deal with each person as he deserves,

You know that I am not guilty, that no one can save me from you.

Yet God knows every step I take; if he tests me, he will find me pure.

then may my arms be broken; may they be torn from my shoulders.

Give thanks to the greatest of all gods; his love is eternal.

he will make your righteousness shine like the noonday sun.

In the assembly of all your people, Lord, I told the good news that you save us. You know that I will never stop telling it.

you would surely have discovered it, because you know our secret thoughts.

But it is on your account that we are being killed all the time, that we are treated like sheep to be slaughtered.

The Almighty God, the Lord, speaks; he calls to the whole earth from east to west.

God presides in the heavenly council; in the assembly of the gods he gives his decision:

For the Lord is a mighty God, a mighty king over all the gods.

Everyone who worships idols is put to shame; all the gods bow down before the Lord.

Now I know that the Lord is greater than all the gods, because he did this when the Egyptians treated the Israelites with such contempt.”

But, Lord, you know me; you see what I do and how I love you. Drag these evil people away like sheep to be butchered; guard them until it is time for them to be slaughtered.

I, the Lord, search the minds and test the hearts of people. I treat each of them according to the way they live, according to what they do.”

“The king of Syria will do as he pleases. He will boast that he is greater than any god, superior even to the Supreme God. He will be able to do this until the time when God punishes him. God will do exactly what he has planned.

The king said, “Your God is the greatest of all gods, the Lord over kings, and the one who reveals mysteries. I know this because you have been able to explain this mystery.”

We have sinned against the Lord, so now we must endure his anger for a while. But in the end he will defend us and right the wrongs that have been done to us. He will bring us out to the light; we will live to see him save us.

Once again my people will see the difference between what happens to the righteous and to the wicked, to the person who serves me and the one who does not.”

A third time Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter became sad because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” and so he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you!” Jesus said to him, “Take care of my sheep.

Then they prayed, “Lord, you know the thoughts of everyone, so show us which of these two you have chosen

If I have broken the law and done something for which I deserve the death penalty, I do not ask to escape it. But if there is no truth in the charges they bring against me, no one can hand me over to them. I appeal to the Emperor.”

Do I say this because I don't love you? God knows I love you!

The God and Father of the Lord Jesus—blessed be his name forever!—knows that I am not lying.

We know what it means to fear the Lord, and so we try to persuade others. God knows us completely, and I hope that in your hearts you know me as well.

The Lord your God is supreme over all gods and over all powers. He is great and mighty, and he is to be obeyed. He does not show partiality, and he does not accept bribes.

He alone is immortal; he lives in the light that no one can approach. No one has ever seen him; no one can ever see him. To him be honor and eternal power! Amen.

There is nothing that can be hid from God; everything in all creation is exposed and lies open before his eyes. And it is to him that we must all give an account of ourselves.

The people of the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and East Manasseh answered the heads of the families of the western tribes:

On his robe and on his thigh was written the name: “King of kings and Lord of lords.”
