So when you make a promise to God, keep it as quickly as possible. He has no use for a fool. Do what you promise to do.

At night I long for you with all my heart; when you judge the earth and its people, they will all learn what justice is.

I am the Lord; why don't you fear me? Why don't you tremble before me? I placed the sand as the boundary of the sea, a permanent boundary that it cannot cross. The sea may toss, but it cannot go beyond it; the waves may roar, but they cannot break through.

Jonah went on to tell them that he was running away from the Lord. The sailors were terrified, and said to him, “That was an awful thing to do!”

So they cried out to the Lord, “O Lord, we pray, don't punish us with death for taking this man's life! You, O Lord, are responsible for all this; it is your doing.”

It is like this. A man takes a mustard seed, the smallest seed in the world, and plants it in the ground.

The whole church and all the others who heard of this were terrified.
