Good News Translation

Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the High Priest's slave, cutting off his right ear. The name of the slave was Malchus.

Jesus said to Peter, “I tell you that before the rooster crows two times tonight, you will say three times that you do not know me.”

But one of those standing there drew his sword and struck at the High Priest's slave, cutting off his ear.

Peter answered, “Lord, I am ready to go to prison with you and to die with you!”

One of the High Priest's slaves, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, spoke up. “Didn't I see you with him in the garden?” he asked.
