The disciples looked at one another, completely puzzled about whom he meant.
When Jacob learned that there was grain in Egypt, he said to his sons, “Why don't you do something?
During the meal Jesus said, “I tell you, one of you will betray me.”
The disciples were very upset and began to ask him, one after the other, “Surely, Lord, you don't mean me?”
While they were at the table eating, Jesus said, “I tell you that one of you will betray me—one who is eating with me.”
The disciples were upset and began to ask him, one after the other, “Surely you don't mean me, do you?”
“But, look! The one who betrays me is here at the table with me!
Then they began to ask among themselves which one of them it could be who was going to do this.
“I am not talking about all of you; I know those I have chosen. But the scripture must come true that says, ‘The man who shared my food turned against me.’
After Jesus had said this, he was deeply troubled and declared openly, “I am telling you the truth: one of you is going to betray me.”
