I hear my lover's voice. He comes running over the mountains, racing across the hills to me.

While I slept, my heart was awake. I dreamed my lover knocked at the door. Let me come in, my darling, my sweetheart, my dove. My head is wet with dew, and my hair is damp from the mist.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you want to come with me, you must forget yourself, carry your cross, and follow me.

There are other sheep which belong to me that are not in this sheep pen. I must bring them, too; they will listen to my voice, and they will become one flock with one shepherd.

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

The gatekeeper opens the gate for him; the sheep hear his voice as he calls his own sheep by name, and he leads them out.

They will not follow someone else; instead, they will run away from such a person, because they do not know his voice.”

All others who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.

Whoever wants to serve me must follow me, so that my servant will be with me where I am. And my Father will honor anyone who serves me.

I have set an example for you, so that you will do just what I have done for you.

So Pilate asked him, “Are you a king, then?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. I was born and came into the world for this one purpose, to speak about the truth. Whoever belongs to the truth listens to me.”

The bridegroom is the one to whom the bride belongs; but the bridegroom's friend, who stands by and listens, is glad when he hears the bridegroom's voice. This is how my own happiness is made complete.

Imitate me, then, just as I imitate Christ.

Since you are God's dear children, you must try to be like him.

The Lord your God will lead you, and he will fight for you, just as you saw him do in Egypt

Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. He did not give up because of the cross! On the contrary, because of the joy that was waiting for him, he thought nothing of the disgrace of dying on the cross, and he is now seated at the right side of God's throne.

On our behalf Jesus has gone in there before us and has become a high priest forever, in the priestly order of Melchizedek.

It was to this that God called you, for Christ himself suffered for you and left you an example, so that you would follow in his steps.

Since Christ suffered physically, you too must strengthen yourselves with the same way of thinking that he had; because whoever suffers physically is no longer involved with sin.

Do not try to rule over those who have been put in your care, but be examples to the flock.
