My people cry out to me, ‘Even though our sins accuse us, help us, Lord, as you have promised. We have turned away from you many times; we have sinned against you.

Let us, then, who were the first to hope in Christ, praise God's glory!

Let us praise God for his glorious grace, for the free gift he gave us in his dear Son!

The Canaanites and everyone else in the country will hear about it. They will surround us and kill every one of us! And then what will you do to protect your honor?”
