But the Lord said to me, “Do not say that you are too young, but go to the people I send you to, and tell them everything I command you to say.

But Micaiah answered, “By the living Lord I promise that I will say what he tells me to!”

O Lord God, you have let me succeed my father as king, even though I am very young and don't know how to rule.

But Micaiah answered, “By the living Lord I will say what my God tells me to!”

he said, “I am the Lord. Tell the king of Egypt everything I tell you.”

the Lord said to me, “Stand in the court of the Temple and proclaim all I have commanded you to say to the people who come from the towns of Judah to worship there. Do not leave out anything.

I finished telling the people everything that the Lord their God had sent me to tell them.

“So, Jeremiah, you will speak all these words to my people, but they will not listen to you; you will call them, but they will not answer.

You will tell them whatever I tell you to say, whether they listen or not. Remember what rebels they are.

Then, when I speak to you again and give you back the power of speech, you will tell them what I, the Sovereign Lord, am saying. Some of them will listen, but some will ignore you, for they are a nation of rebels.”

But the Lord took me from my work as a shepherd and ordered me to come and prophesy to his people Israel.

He said, “Go to Nineveh, that great city, and proclaim to the people the message I have given you.”

That night God came to Balaam and said, “If these men have come to ask you to go with them, get ready and go, but do only what I tell you.”

Balaam answered, “I came, didn't I? But now, what power do I have? I can say only what God tells me to say.”

and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age.”

For I have not held back from announcing to you the whole purpose of God.
