But if you look closely into the perfect law that sets people free, and keep on paying attention to it and do not simply listen and then forget it, but put it into practice—you will be blessed by God in what you do.

Happy are those who obey his commands, who always do what is right.

I will eagerly obey your commands, because you will give me more understanding.

I will live in perfect freedom, because I try to obey your teachings.

A fool will believe anything; smart people watch their step.

You are to answer them, “Listen to what the Lord is teaching you! Don't listen to mediums—what they tell you cannot keep trouble away.”

But Jesus answered, “Rather, how happy are those who hear the word of God and obey it!”

Now that you know this truth, how happy you will be if you put it into practice!

If the Son sets you free, then you will be really free.

After the people had left the meeting, Paul and Barnabas were followed by many Jews and by many Gentiles who had been converted to Judaism. The apostles spoke to them and encouraged them to keep on living in the grace of God.

They spent their time in learning from the apostles, taking part in the fellowship, and sharing in the fellowship meals and the prayers.

But to this very day I have been helped by God, and so I stand here giving my witness to all, to small and great alike. What I say is the very same thing which the prophets and Moses said was going to happen:

Here we see how kind and how severe God is. He is severe toward those who have fallen, but kind to you—if you continue in his kindness. But if you do not, you too will be broken off.

For it is not by hearing the Law that people are put right with God, but by doing what the Law commands.

So then, the Law itself is holy, and the commandment is holy, right, and good.

For the Spirit that God has given you does not make you slaves and cause you to be afraid; instead, the Spirit makes you God's children, and by the Spirit's power we cry out to God, “Father! my Father!”

For the law of the Spirit, which brings us life in union with Christ Jesus, has set me free from the law of sin and death.

So then, my dear friends, stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in your work for the Lord, since you know that nothing you do in the Lord's service is ever useless.

Put yourselves to the test and judge yourselves, to find out whether you are living in faith. Surely you know that Christ Jesus is in you?—unless you have completely failed.

although some wanted it done. Pretending to be believers, these men slipped into our group as spies, in order to find out about the freedom we have through our union with Christ Jesus. They wanted to make slaves of us,

Freedom is what we have—Christ has set us free! Stand, then, as free people, and do not allow yourselves to become slaves again.

Help carry one another's burdens, and in this way you will obey the law of Christ.

You must, of course, continue faithful on a firm and sure foundation, and must not allow yourselves to be shaken from the hope you gained when you heard the gospel. It is of this gospel that I, Paul, became a servant—this gospel which has been preached to everybody in the world.

But a woman will be saved through having children, if she perseveres in faith and love and holiness, with modesty.

Watch yourself and watch your teaching. Keep on doing these things, because if you do, you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

Guard against turning back from the grace of God. Let no one become like a bitter plant that grows up and causes many troubles with its poison.

Speak and act as people who will be judged by the law that sets us free.

Live as free people; do not, however, use your freedom to cover up any evil, but live as God's slaves.

Be sure, then, to keep in your hearts the message you heard from the beginning. If you keep that message, then you will always live in union with the Son and the Father.

Then I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Happy are those who from now on die in the service of the Lord!” “Yes indeed!” answers the Spirit. “They will enjoy rest from their hard work, because the results of their service go with them.”

Happy are those who wash their robes clean and so have the right to eat the fruit from the tree of life and to go through the gates into the city.

All will go well with you if you honor the Lord your God, serve him, listen to him, and obey his commands, and if you and your king follow him.
