And that is how God will bless my descendants, because he has made an eternal covenant with me, an agreement that will not be broken, a promise that will not be changed. That is all I desire; that will be my victory, and God will surely bring it about.

Happy are those who obey his commands, who always do what is right.

I wait eagerly for the Lord's help, and in his word I trust.

He knows that I am faultless, that I have kept myself from doing wrong.

I thirst for you, the living God. When can I go and worship in your presence?

You set the mountains in place by your strength, showing your mighty power.

What else do I have in heaven but you? Since I have you, what else could I want on earth?

How I want to be there! I long to be in the Lord's Temple. With my whole being I sing for joy to the living God.

Tell the Israelites that I, the Lord, the God of their ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, have sent you to them. This is my name forever; this is what all future generations are to call me.

Promise me, women of Jerusalem, that if you find my lover, you will tell him I am weak from passion.

A day is coming when people will sing, “Give thanks to the Lord! Call for him to help you! Tell all the nations what he has done! Tell them how great he is!

and those in the East will praise him. The people who live along the sea will praise the Lord, the God of Israel.

Lord, you are my God; I will honor you and praise your name. You have done amazing things; you have faithfully carried out the plans you made long ago.

When it happens, everyone will say, “He is our God! We have put our trust in him, and he has rescued us. He is the Lord! We have put our trust in him, and now we are happy and joyful because he has saved us.”

Lord our God, we have been ruled by others, but you alone are our Lord.

And yet the Lord is waiting to be merciful to you. He is ready to take pity on you because he always does what is right. Happy are those who put their trust in the Lord.

Lord, have mercy on us. We have put our hope in you. Protect us day by day and save us in times of trouble.

Kings will be like fathers to you; queens will be like mothers. They will bow low before you and honor you; they will humbly show their respect for you. Then you will know that I am the Lord; no one who waits for my help will be disappointed.”

“Listen to me, my people, listen to what I say: I give my teaching to the nations; my laws will bring them light.

The Lord says to his people, “Do what is just and right, for soon I will save you.

Each nation worships and obeys its own god, but we will worship and obey the Lord our God forever and ever.

But I will watch for the Lord; I will wait confidently for God, who will save me. My God will hear me.

“Remember the teachings of my servant Moses, the laws and commands which I gave him at Mount Sinai for all the people of Israel to obey.

These are the rules and regulations that the Lord gave the Israelites through Moses in the plains of Moab across the Jordan River from Jericho.

They both lived good lives in God's sight and obeyed fully all the Lord's laws and commands.

And when they came together, he gave them this order: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift I told you about, the gift my Father promised.

But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

May the Lord lead you into a greater understanding of God's love and the endurance that is given by Christ.
