They saw him in the distance, and before he reached them, they plotted against him and decided to kill him.

Then they took him and threw him into the well, which was dry.

I was fiercely attacked and was being defeated, but the Lord helped me.

They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like arrows.

I have told you this so that you will have peace by being united to me. The world will make you suffer. But be brave! I have defeated the world!”

They strengthened the believers and encouraged them to remain true to the faith. “We must pass through many troubles to enter the Kingdom of God,” they taught.
