Good News Translation

The people of Israel left Rephidim, and on the first day of the third month after they had left Egypt they came to the desert of Sinai. There they set up camp at the foot of Mount Sinai,

“This month is to be the first month of the year for you.

On that day the Lord brought the Israelite tribes out of Egypt.

Then, on the evening of the fourteenth day of the month, the whole community of Israel will kill the animals.
