But now, give the woman back to her husband. He is a prophet, and he will pray for you, so that you will not die. But if you do not give her back, I warn you that you are going to die, you and all your people.”

For seven days all the people of Israel who were present celebrated the Passover and the Festival of Unleavened Bread.

From the evening of the fourteenth day of the first month to the evening of the twenty-first day, you must not eat any bread made with yeast.

“This month is to be the first month of the year for you.

Then the Lord said to Moses,

“On the first day of the first month set up the Tent of the Lord's presence.

“On the fourteenth day of the first month you will begin the celebration of the Passover Festival. For seven days everyone will eat bread made without yeast.

The Passover Festival in honor of the Lord is to be held on the fourteenth day of the first month.

“On the fourteenth day of this month, beginning at sunset, the people of Israel are to observe the Passover according to all the rules and regulations for it.”

and on the evening of the fourteenth day of the first month they did so in the Sinai Desert. The people did everything just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

It was now two days before the Festival of Passover and Unleavened Bread. The chief priests and the teachers of the Law were looking for a way to arrest Jesus secretly and put him to death.

The time was near for the Festival of Unleavened Bread, which is called the Passover.

After his arrest Peter was put in jail, where he was handed over to be guarded by four groups of four soldiers each. Herod planned to put him on trial in public after Passover.

A prophet came to Eli with this message from the Lord: “When your ancestor Aaron and his family were slaves of the king of Egypt, I revealed myself to Aaron.
