A good reputation is better than expensive perfume; and the day you die is better than the day you are born.

In the grave wicked people stop their evil, and tired workers find rest at last.

It is like the precious anointing oil running down from Aaron's head and beard, down to the collar of his robes.

Smiling faces make you happy, and good news makes you feel better.

If you have to choose between a good reputation and great wealth, choose a good reputation.

Otherwise everyone will learn that you can't keep a secret, and you will never live down the shame.

Perfume and fragrant oils make you feel happier, but trouble shatters your peace of mind.

Dead flies can make a whole bottle of perfume stink, and a little stupidity can cancel out the greatest wisdom.

I envy those who are dead and gone; they are better off than those who are still alive.

The end of something is better than its beginning. Patience is better than pride.

There is a fragrance about you; the sound of your name recalls it. No woman could keep from loving you.

Jesus and his disciples were at supper. The Devil had already put into the heart of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, the thought of betraying Jesus.

For we know that when this tent we live in—our body here on earth—is torn down, God will have a house in heaven for us to live in, a home he himself has made, which will last forever.

We are full of courage and would much prefer to leave our home in the body and be at home with the Lord.

It was by their faith that people of ancient times won God's approval.

What a record all of these have won by their faith! Yet they did not receive what God had promised,

Then I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Happy are those who from now on die in the service of the Lord!” “Yes indeed!” answers the Spirit. “They will enjoy rest from their hard work, because the results of their service go with them.”

So she lay there at his feet, but she got up before it was light enough for her to be seen, because Boaz did not want anyone to know that she had been there.
