Deuteronomy 22:4

Good News Translation

“If an Israelite's donkey or cow has fallen down, don't ignore it; help him get the animal to its feet again.

But now I tell you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

We who are strong in the faith ought to help the weak to carry their burdens. We should not please ourselves.

I will be glad to spend all I have, and myself as well, in order to help you. Will you love me less because I love you so much?

Do the same thing if you find a donkey, a piece of clothing, or anything else that an Israelite may have lost.

“Women are not to wear men's clothing, and men are not to wear women's clothing; the Lord your God hates people who do such things.

We urge you, our friends, to warn the idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.
