Daniel 6:24

Good News Translation

Then the king gave orders to arrest all those who had accused Daniel, and he had them thrown, together with their wives and children, into the pit filled with lions. Before they even reached the bottom of the pit, the lions pounced on them and broke all their bones.

However, he did not kill their children but followed what the Lord had commanded in the Law of Moses: “Parents are not to be put to death for crimes committed by their children, and children are not to be put to death for crimes committed by their parents; people are to be put to death only for a crime they themselves have committed.”

So Haman was hanged on the gallows that he had built for Mordecai. Then the king's anger cooled down.

But Esther went to the king, and the king issued written orders with the result that Haman suffered the fate he had planned for the Jews—he and his sons were hanged from the gallows.

May God use their own evil to punish my enemies. He will destroy them because he is faithful.

The righteous are protected from trouble; it comes to the wicked instead.

No one who tells lies in court can escape punishment; he is doomed.

All night I cried out with pain, As if a lion were breaking my bones. I thought that God was ending my life.

So now, I, the Lord, say that you have disobeyed me; you have not given all Israelites their freedom. Very well, then, I will give you freedom: the freedom to die by war, disease, and starvation. I will make every nation in the world horrified at what I do to you.

Now because the king had given strict orders for the furnace to be made extremely hot, the flames burned up the guards who took the men to the furnace.
