“God is wise and powerful! Praise him forever and ever.

May the Most High God, who gave you victory over your enemies, be praised!” And Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of all the loot he had recovered.

“Praise the Lord who has given his people peace, as he promised he would. He has kept all the generous promises he made through his servant Moses.

Then David commanded the people, “Praise the Lord your God!” And the whole assembly praised the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and they bowed low and gave honor to the Lord and also to the king.

After consulting with the people, the king ordered some musicians to put on the robes they wore on sacred occasions and to march ahead of the army, singing: “Praise the Lord! His love is eternal!”

The following Levites gave a call to worship: Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah. They said: “Stand up and praise the Lord your God; praise him forever and ever! Let everyone praise his glorious name, although no human praise is great enough.”

Praise the Lord! You servants of the Lord, praise his name!

May his name be praised, now and forever.

But we, the living, will give thanks to him now and forever. Praise the Lord!

Great and mighty is our Lord; his wisdom cannot be measured.

Praise the Lord, the God of Israel! Praise him now and forever! Amen! Amen!

Giving thanks is the sacrifice that honors me, and I will surely save all who obey me.”

More than once I have heard God say that power belongs to him

I make plans and carry them out. I have understanding, and I am strong.

You make wise plans and do mighty things; you see everything that people do, and you reward them according to their actions.

You think you are wiser than Danel, that no secret can be kept from you.

Do not bring us to hard testing, but keep us safe from the Evil One.’

To him who is able to keep you from falling and to bring you faultless and joyful before his glorious presence—

and sang in a loud voice: “The Lamb who was killed is worthy to receive power, wealth, wisdom, and strength, honor, glory, and praise!”
