Peter said to them, “Each one of you must turn away from your sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins will be forgiven; and you will receive God's gift, the Holy Spirit.

Many of them believed his message and were baptized, and about three thousand people were added to the group that day.

He came to me, stood by me, and said, ‘Brother Saul, see again!’ At that very moment I saw again and looked at him.

And now, why wait any longer? Get up and be baptized and have your sins washed away by praying to him.’

So Ananias went, entered the house where Saul was, and placed his hands on him. “Brother Saul,” he said, “the Lord has sent me—Jesus himself, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here. He sent me so that you might see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

and after he had eaten, his strength came back. Saul stayed for a few days with the believers in Damascus.

Saul got up from the ground and opened his eyes, but could not see a thing. So they took him by the hand and led him into Damascus.

Their minds, indeed, were closed; and to this very day their minds are covered with the same veil as they read the books of the old covenant. The veil is removed only when a person is joined to Christ.

The God who said, “Out of darkness the light shall shine!” is the same God who made his light shine in our hearts, to bring us the knowledge of God's glory shining in the face of Christ.
