Acts 7:30

“After forty years had passed, an angel appeared to Moses in the flames of a burning bush in the desert near Mount Sinai.

Elijah got up, ate and drank, and the food gave him enough strength to walk forty days to Sinai, the holy mountain.

You let our enemies trample us; we went through fire and flood, but now you have brought us to a place of safety.

Now, as for the dead being raised: haven't you ever read in the Book of Moses the passage about the burning bush? There it is written that God said to Moses, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’

And Moses clearly proves that the dead are raised to life. In the passage about the burning bush he speaks of the Lord as ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’

“When the time drew near for God to keep the promise he had made to Abraham, the number of our people in Egypt had grown much larger.

Moses was amazed by what he saw, and went near the bush to get a better look. But he heard the Lord's voice:

‘I am the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.’ Moses trembled with fear and dared not look.

“Moses is the one who was rejected by the people of Israel. ‘Who made you ruler and judge over us?’ they asked. He is the one whom God sent to rule the people and set them free with the help of the angel who appeared to him in the burning bush.

Hagar, who stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia, is a figure of the present city of Jerusalem, in slavery with all its people.

May their land be filled with all that is good, Blessed by the goodness of the Lord, Who spoke from the burning bush. May these blessings come to the tribe of Joseph, Because he was the leader among his brothers.

But you are the people he rescued from Egypt, that blazing furnace. He brought you out to make you his own people, as you are today.
