Agrippa said to Paul, “You have permission to speak on your own behalf.” Paul stretched out his hand and defended himself as follows:

I will announce your commands to kings and I will not be ashamed.

I have been calling you, inviting you to come, but you would not listen. You paid no attention to me.

Listen before you answer. If you don't, you are being stupid and insulting.

For it seems unreasonable to me to send a prisoner without clearly indicating the charges against him.”

“King Agrippa! I consider myself fortunate that today I am to defend myself before you from all the things these Jews accuse me of,

The Lord said to him, “Go, because I have chosen him to serve me, to make my name known to Gentiles and kings and to the people of Israel.

But concerning Israel he says, “All day long I held out my hands to welcome a disobedient and rebellious people.”
