Good News Translation

He ordered the officer in charge of Paul to keep him under guard, but to give him some freedom and allow his friends to provide for his needs.

When you please the Lord, you can make your enemies into friends.

But King Nebuchadnezzar commanded Nebuzaradan, the commanding officer, to give the following order:

But the son of Paul's sister heard about the plot; so he went to the fort and told Paul.

he said, “I will hear you when your accusers arrive.” Then he gave orders for Paul to be kept under guard in the governor's headquarters.

At the same time he was hoping that Paul would give him some money; and for this reason he would call for him often and talk with him.

Festus answered, “Paul is being kept a prisoner in Caesarea, and I myself will be going back there soon.

The next day we arrived at Sidon. Julius was kind to Paul and allowed him to go and see his friends, to be given what he needed.

When we arrived in Rome, Paul was allowed to live by himself with a soldier guarding him.

He preached about the Kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ, speaking with all boldness and freedom.
