The High Priest Ananias ordered those who were standing close to Paul to strike him on the mouth.
Then the prophet Zedekiah went up to Micaiah, slapped his face, and asked, “Since when did the Lord's spirit leave me and speak to you?”
People sneer at me; they crowd around me and slap my face.

People of Jerusalem, gather your forces! We are besieged! They are attacking the leader of Israel!
Then they spat in his face and beat him; and those who slapped him
When Jesus said this, one of the guards there slapped him and said, “How dare you talk like that to the High Priest!”
Jesus answered him, “If I have said anything wrong, tell everyone here what it was. But if I am right in what I have said, why do you hit me?”
Five days later the High Priest Ananias went to Caesarea with some elders and a lawyer named Tertullus. They appeared before Governor Felix and made their charges against Paul.
