Acts 2:47

praising God, and enjoying the good will of all the people. And every day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved.

but they could not find a way to do it, because all the people kept listening to him, not wanting to miss a single word.

Jesus grew both in body and in wisdom, gaining favor with God and people.

The Lord's power was with them, and a great number of people believed and turned to the Lord.

Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and many people were brought to the Lord.

When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and praised the Lord's message; and those who had been chosen for eternal life became believers.

The same thing happened in Iconium: Paul and Barnabas went to the synagogue and spoke in such a way that a great number of Jews and Gentiles became believers.

Paul and Barnabas preached the Good News in Derbe and won many disciples. Then they went back to Lystra, to Iconium, and on to Antioch in Pisidia.

So the churches were made stronger in the faith and grew in numbers every day.

Many of them believed; and many Greek women of high social standing and many Greek men also believed.

For God's promise was made to you and your children, and to all who are far away—all whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”

Many of them believed his message and were baptized, and about three thousand people were added to the group that day.

So the Council warned them even more strongly and then set them free. They saw that it was impossible to punish them, because the people were all praising God for what had happened.

With great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God poured rich blessings on them all.

But many who heard the message believed; and the number grew to about five thousand.

Some time later, as the number of disciples kept growing, there was a quarrel between the Greek-speaking Jews and the native Jews. The Greek-speaking Jews claimed that their widows were being neglected in the daily distribution of funds.

And so the word of God continued to spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem grew larger and larger, and a great number of priests accepted the faith.

And so it was that the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had a time of peace. Through the help of the Holy Spirit it was strengthened and grew in numbers, as it lived in reverence for the Lord.

All the people living in Lydda and Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord.

And when you serve Christ in this way, you please God and are approved by others.

And so those whom God set apart, he called; and those he called, he put right with himself, and he shared his glory with them.

And Isaiah exclaims about Israel: “Even if the people of Israel are as many as the grains of sand by the sea, yet only a few of them will be saved;

For the message about Christ's death on the cross is nonsense to those who are being lost; but for us who are being saved it is God's power.
