But God raised him from death, setting him free from its power, because it was impossible that death should hold him prisoner.

I am your servant, Lord; I serve you just as my mother did. You have saved me from death.

But the Assyrian emperor has his own violent plans in mind. He is determined to destroy many nations.

The Sovereign Lord will destroy death forever! He will wipe away the tears from everyone's eyes and take away the disgrace his people have suffered throughout the world. The Lord himself has spoken.

Those of our people who have died will live again! Their bodies will come back to life. All those sleeping in their graves will wake up and sing for joy. As the sparkling dew refreshes the earth, so the Lord will revive those who have long been dead.

The Lord says, “It was my will that he should suffer; his death was a sacrifice to bring forgiveness. And so he will see his descendants; he will live a long life, and through him my purpose will succeed.

I will not save this people from the world of the dead or rescue them from the power of death. Bring on your plagues, death! Bring on your destruction, world of the dead! I will no longer have pity for this people.

and said, “Sir, we remember that while that liar was still alive he said, ‘I will be raised to life three days later.’

No one takes my life away from me. I give it up of my own free will. I have the right to give it up, and I have the right to take it back. This is what my Father has commanded me to do.”

We know that what the scripture says is true forever; and God called those people gods, the people to whom his message was given.

And so they were not able to believe, because Isaiah also said,

They still did not understand the scripture which said that he must rise from death.)

“My friends,” he said, “the scripture had to come true in which the Holy Spirit, speaking through David, made a prediction about Judas, who was the guide for those who arrested Jesus.

But God raised him from death,

But this did not happen to the one whom God raised from death.

For he has fixed a day in which he will judge the whole world with justice by means of a man he has chosen. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising that man from death!”

God has raised this very Jesus from death, and we are all witnesses to this fact.

You killed the one who leads to life, but God raised him from death—and we are witnesses to this.

And so God chose his Servant and sent him to you first, to bless you by making every one of you turn away from your wicked ways.”

then you should all know, and all the people of Israel should know, that this man stands here before you completely well through the power of the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth—whom you crucified and whom God raised from death.

The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from death, after you had killed him by nailing him to a cross.

If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved.

For Christ died and rose to life in order to be the Lord of the living and of the dead.

Now, since our message is that Christ has been raised from death, how can some of you say that the dead will not be raised to life?

More than that, we are shown to be lying about God, because we said that he raised Christ from death—but if it is true that the dead are not raised to life, then he did not raise Christ.

But the truth is that Christ has been raised from death, as the guarantee that those who sleep in death will also be raised.

that he was buried and that he was raised to life three days later, as written in the Scriptures;

God raised the Lord from death, and he will also raise us by his power.

We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus to life, will also raise us up with Jesus and take us, together with you, into his presence.

From Paul, whose call to be an apostle did not come from human beings or by human means, but from Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from death.

which he used when he raised Christ from death and seated him at his right side in the heavenly world.

For when you were baptized, you were buried with Christ, and in baptism you were also raised with Christ through your faith in the active power of God, who raised him from death.

and to wait for his Son to come from heaven—his Son Jesus, whom he raised from death and who rescues us from God's anger that is coming.

God has raised from death our Lord Jesus, who is the Great Shepherd of the sheep as the result of his blood, by which the eternal covenant is sealed. May the God of peace provide you with every good thing you need in order to do his will, and may he, through Jesus Christ, do in us what pleases him. And to Christ be the glory forever and ever! Amen.

Since the children, as he calls them, are people of flesh and blood, Jesus himself became like them and shared their human nature. He did this so that through his death he might destroy the Devil, who has the power over death,

Through him you believe in God, who raised him from death and gave him glory; and so your faith and hope are fixed on God.

I am the living one! I was dead, but now I am alive forever and ever. I have authority over death and the world of the dead.
