With these words they threw the crowd and the city authorities in an uproar.
When King Herod heard about this, he was very upset, and so was everyone else in Jerusalem.
“When they bring you to be tried in the synagogues or before governors or rulers, do not be worried about how you will defend yourself or what you will say.
If we let him go on in this way, everyone will believe in him, and the Roman authorities will take action and destroy our Temple and our nation!”
