The Lord's hand will come down on you now; you will be blind and will not see the light of day for a time.” At once Elymas felt a dark mist cover his eyes, and he walked around trying to find someone to lead him by the hand.

Then they struck all the men outside with blindness, so that they couldn't find the door.

The king of Syria was at war with Israel. He consulted his officers and chose a place to set up his camp.

You are my friends! Take pity on me! The hand of God has struck me down.

Day and night you punished me, Lord; my strength was completely drained, as moisture is dried up by the summer heat.

You have wounded me with your arrows; you have struck me down.

The Lord has made you drowsy, ready to fall into a deep sleep. The prophets should be the eyes of the people, but God has blindfolded them.

So Ananias went, entered the house where Saul was, and placed his hands on him. “Brother Saul,” he said, “the Lord has sent me—Jesus himself, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here. He sent me so that you might see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”

There is a secret truth, my friends, which I want you to know, for it will keep you from thinking how wise you are. It is that the stubbornness of the people of Israel is not permanent, but will last only until the complete number of Gentiles comes to God.

It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God!

These people are like dried-up springs, like clouds blown along by a storm; God has reserved a place for them in the deepest darkness.

So again they sent for all the Philistine kings and said, “Send the Covenant Box of Israel back to its own place, so that it won't kill us and our families.” There was panic throughout the city because God was punishing them so severely.

But after it arrived there, the Lord punished that city too and caused a great panic. He punished them with tumors which developed in all the people of the city, young and old alike.
